Despite a clear schedule being followed for the completion of Zamboanga siege housing projects, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD) failed to provide a schedule for the  closure of all transitory sites for victims of the conflict.

CSWD Officer Socorro Rojas said that their office is merely dependent on the completion of housing units by the National Housing Authority (NHA).

"As of now, nohay announcement, information from the NHA when they are going to be transferred," Ma. Socorro Rojas, CSWDO officer said.

She explained that their office is dependent on the NHA because the latter is responsible for the completion of all permanent housing projects for the IDPs.

Rojas said that communication sent to the NHA have all been unanswered.

Currently, there are 252 families or  1,539 individuals still living in transitory sites.

Out of 12 transitory sites, only five remain.  These are located in  Kasanyangan, Masepla 2 and 3 at Mampang, Buggoc, and at the Rio Hondo Elementary School.

According to Rojas, they are waiting for the Valle Vista Phase 4 to finish so that these transitory sites can now be closed.

The Valle Vista Phase 4 in Kasanyangan consists of 917 units.

NHA started the construction of the houses for IDP on July 2014.  The office was tasked by then President Noynoy Aquino to construct  8,161 houses.

Beneficiaries of the houses for the Z3R are Internally Displaced Persons affected by the September 9, 2013 Zamboanga siege. (RGAAGo)
