A 40-year-old woman was found dead inside a pension house in Pagadian City last Thursday morning.

The victim’s male companion is being hunted down by authorities after reportedly escaping from the establishment a few hours before the victim’s body was discovered.

Supt. Alvin Saguban, Pagadian City Police chief, identified the female victim as Refaila Abing y Pepito, 40 years old, married and a resident of Zone 1, Barangay Tiguma, Pagadian City.

Based on a CCTV footage obtained by the police investigator, the couple entered the pension house at 1:30 a.m. last Thursday.

After about an hour and a half, the man came out of the room without his slippers but wearing his helmet.

He turned back, entered the room and went out again but this time wearing his slippers.  He then locked the door of the room and left the boarding house.

The victim’s male companion could not be identified because there was no logbook at the establishment where the guests’ names are registered.

The victim’s cadaver was subjected to post mortem examination.

The Pagadian City Police, meanwhile, is conducting a follow up investigation for the possible identification of the victim’s companion. (Remus Ong)
