Three unidentified men held up a school teacher in Barangay Kaumpurnah, Isabela City, Basilan Province last Sunday.

A Police Regional Office-9 report identified the victim as Hansel Barro San Juan, 31 years old,  single and a teacher of Claret College of Isabela.

San Juan was driving his motorcycle on his way home when the incident happened.

Upon reaching Tugung Street, three unidentified men blocked his way, thus prompting the victim to stop.

The suspects and the victim engaged in a scuffle as the former tried to get San Juan’s personal belongings.

One of the suspects, however, hit San Juan’s head with a .45 caliber pistol while the two proceeded to divest him of his bag, necklace, cellular phone and motorcycle key.

The victim was brought to a hospital while police conducted pursuit operations against the suspects.  (Remus Ong)
