An 18-year-old man and his mother were killed after they were bumped by a passenger bus at Sitio Tarlago, Tictapul last Saturday afternoon.

The fatalities were identified as Argid Clemente, 18 and his mother Concepcion Clemente, 44, both of Vitali. They sustained head injuries and bone fractures and were taken to the hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.

A police report disclosed that the mother and son were riding on a Honda XRM motorcycle negotiating the highway at Sitio Tarlago around 4 p.m. when they were bumped by a passenger bus driven by Meliton Loquias. The bus was coming in from the opposite direction.

Loquias surrendered to the police after the incident.

Initial investigation showed that Loquias lost control of the bus’ steering bar and hit Clemente’s motorcycle.
Both vehicles were impounded at the Vitali Police Station pending further investigation. — Dan Toribio Jr.
