The City Council is asking the City Planning Office to study an idle lot located in Barangay Sangali for possible use by the local government.

Councilor Juan Climaco Elago identified the idle lot as the former Sangali Market measuring about 900 square meters.

The franchisee for the market for five years no longer continued the business as a flea market.

Currently, the place is being used by vendors who are not paying taxes to the city.

"Ta opera sila ali ara nuay lisensiya nohay taxes ta paga sayang el lugar," Elago said.

He said, the area could possibly be used by the city as a bagsakan center, school, hospital, or covered court which the barangay can utilize during fiesta. (RGAAGo)
