To address all concerns related to rice hoarding, overpricing and other abuses, the National Food Authority (NFA) has launched Task Force NFA Kontra Abuso, providing the public with a facility that people can easily access to air complaints.

The task force can be contacted through hotline numbers 0927-871-5921.

The hotline number can be used by the public to air their complaints and report observed violations of grains trading regulations committed by rice businessmen.

The concept will also provide the grains businessmen and the public with the facility to send complaints or request for assistance/ tip-off information and ensure prompt action on the same against all highway violations that may be committed by government grain commodities and visit to private warehouses for inspection as well as contribute to and support the government towards better governance through the use of e-commerce and information technology.

Tarpaulins and other IEC materials regarding the Task Force will be posted/displayed and distributed in strategic areas of the city for massive dissemination.

Zamboanga City and other areas nationwide are facing scarcity of rice that prompted NFA Region 9 officials together with Mayor Beng Climaco last Saturday to conduct an ocular inspection of various rice warehouses in the city to check on stocks. (Sheila Covarrubias/PR)
