Female NPA member arrested in Liloy Print

A suspected female member of the New People’s Army (NPA) was arrested by police at a bus terminal in Barangay Baybay, Liloy Municipality, Zamboanga del Norte last Wednesday.

Chief Insp. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-9 Information Officer, identified the suspect as Erlinda Sangcom Dalagon, 48 years old, and resident of Sitio Lagpan, Barangay Conception.

The suspect was also identified as a cousin of alleged NPA Commander Jerson Sangcom under Secom Sendong who reportedly instructed the suspect to deliver a package comprised of medicine and money to an unidentified NPA member who fled to Labason.

Authorities also recovered a hand grenade which accidentally protruded from the suspect’s handbag while the latter was sorting out her stuff.

Two police operatives of the 901st Regional Mobile Force Battalion -9 apprehended the suspect and brought her to the Liloy Municipal Police Station for investigation.

The suspect and the items are now under the custody of the Liloy Municipal Police.  (Dan Toribio)
