A businessman engaged in the buy and sell of crabs and shrimps was shot and wounded by one of two motorcycle riding gunmen in Sitio Camias, Curuan last Friday night.

Police identified the victim as Jayser Dagalea Perez, 29, single, a resident of Barangay Curuan.

The victim sustained three bullet wounds in the body and was taken to the hospital.

Police recovered five spent shells of a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Initial investigation showed that Perez was standing in front of their house when one of two motorcycle riding gunmen shot him three times.

The suspects sped away after the attack.

Before the incident, Perez’ stepfather figured in a heated argument with a still  unidentified individual.

Police are not discounting the possibility of mistaken identity and personal grudge as the possible motive of the shooting.  (Dan Toribio)
