Zambo LGU to grant tax amnesty on real property Print

The city government is set to grant a tax amnesty to delinquent real property tax owners for unpaid real property taxes.

Romelita F. Candido, City Treasurer, said that amnesty will be granted for unpaid real property taxes prior to December 31, 2017.

Property owners are advised to bring documents such as tax declaration and the old official receipt.

The City Treasurer’s Office will be accepting payments for unpaid real property taxes subject to the amnesty from September 2 until June 30, 2019.

“For those who are delinquent in the payment of their real property tax, we encourage them to avail of this tax relief na ta dale el gobyerno. Take chance of this, as you are given a longer period to avail,” Candido said.

The basis for the grant of tax amnesty is City Ordinance 484 which was approved on July 31, 2018.

Delinquent real property owners who will pay before December 15, 2018 will be given a 100 percent tax relief.

Thereafter and until June 30, 2019, delinquent real property tax owners will be granted a fifty (50) percent tax amnesty on penalties, surcharges and interest.

Real properties which are subject to a warrant of levy, auction sale, compromise agreement and litigation or civil action are exempted from the tax amnesty program.  (RGAAGo)
