The Police Regional Anti-Cybercrime Office-9 yesterday announced that it has already filed more than 150 cases against persons who have been accused for violation of R.A 10175, otherwise known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and R.A 9995, which is known as the Voyeurism Law or exposing nude photos or sex scandal in the internet.

According to Chief Inspector Joel C. Tuttoh, that since January, 2018 up to the present, his command has received more than 150 complaints from different individuals who fell victims to cyber crimes.

“Most of the complaints that my office has received are complaints on “ On line libel.”Most of the complainants told this office that their rights were violated because they did not give their consent to persons to expose their self thru internet, C/Insp. Tuttoh told DZT in an interview.

Tuttoh said that these complains came from the different areas in Zamboanga Peninsula and even also from the island provinces of Basilan, Sulu & Tawi-Tawi.

Tuttoh has warns individuals most especially to those who are internet  or social media aficionados not to expose  or show in the internet any of  their friends or companions private pictures and intimate undertakings if the person concerned does not give his or her consent.

Any person who exposed other person in the internet or social media without the consent or authority from person concerned will be held liable in violation of the R.A 10175 and R.A 9995. Allen Abastillas
