LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “...Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come...” (Ecclesiastes 12:1, the Holy Bible)

MANY THANKS, BUT ATTY. BATAS IS NOT RUNNING IN 2019: Thank God in the Name of Jesus! Indeed, I am truly thankful to the many, particularly those who are even complete strangers to me, who have been insisting to include me in their various social networking posts as one of their choices for senator in the forthcoming mid-term elections in 2019.

While it is truly a great honor for me, as Atty. Batas Mauricio, to be consistently included in social media posts about possible senatorial candidates for 2019 side-by-side with other more illustrious and decidedly more economically capable of waging a rigorous campaign, I wish to clarify, yet once again, that I am not concerned with any political ambitions at the moment. What I wish to focus on at this point is the work God has given me as a worker of His Word.

I am now trying very hard, according to God’s leading, to be faithful to the call for this kind of work, together with the members of the AND KNK ( or Simbahang Anak ng Diyos Kadugo Ni Kristo, or Children of God Blood Kin of the Christ Church). Anyway, to those who believe I should be a senator of the Republic, thank you very much. I am greatly humbled by our expressions of support for me, but what I need now would be your prayers for my work for the Lord Jesus, our God and Savior who is God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!!!

WE MUST EVALUATE SENATORIAL CANDIDATES IN 2013 ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD: Be that as it may, the time has come to gauge or evaluate the senatorial candidates for 2019, because it is quite imperative for all of us to really start assessing those who are wanting to become senators and those who are aspiring for other positions across the country on the basis of the Word of God. Here was what I wrote in 2013 about this matter.

“Right now, our objective as voters should be to examine the private lives of all candidates in relation to their conduct, behavior, speech, statements, and thoughts, and see if they have the requisite fear and love of God in all these, in whatever they think, say and do. This should be an easy thing to do, and should provide concrete proof of the candidates’ godliness and spirituality, and readiness to serve."

“The candidate that lives his life according to the Word of God is sure to become a good, honest and dedicated official once elected. The candidate that does not even know the Word of God is sure to go wayward in the discharge of his duties and responsibilities, and is bound to uphold his personal and family interests to the detriment and prejudice of the people."

MEASURING CANDIDATES ON THE BASIS OF THE BIBLE: “And that is one thing that we must try to find among the candidates who are now campaigning hard for our votes---do they truthfully believe in God in the sense that they make an effort to know His Word and obey His commands? Are they even aware that in Ecclesiastes 12:13, the Bible contains a warning about being fearful of God and mindful of obeying His commands”

“Ecclesiastes 12:13 says in full: ‘...Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind...’ A candidate who fears God strives to know and obey His commands, knowing fully well that these are the things that God requires from all of us.”

If a candidate does not know even only a single command of God, how then can he be expected to obey that command? If that candidate cannot even obey God, how can he hope to serve his constituents and really give them the best service possible? Filipino voters must therefore consciously measure the candidates on his being a reader and a follower of the Bible.
