A woman and her son were killed while another was wounded after their intoxicated in-law went on a stabbing rampage in Barangay Pasonanca, this city last Monday night.

Police identified the fatalities as Maria Fely Agustin Ramirez, 48 years old and her son Pedie Agustin Ramirez, 30 years old, a jeepney driver.

Another son, Jay-ar Agustin Ramirez, 26, was wounded in the incident.

The three were allegedly stabbed by Joel Onggon y Puyat, 30 years old, a son-in-law of Maria Fely.

Onggon was apprehended by residents and was turned over to the Sta. Maria Police Station for disposition.

Prior to the incident, Fely reportedly called the attention of her daughter to feed the latter’s newborn.

Onggon, who was heavily drunk at the time, strongly reacted and figured into an argument with his mother-in-law.

Pedie then intervened and told the warring parties to settle their differences the following day.

Instead of calming down, Onggon grabbed a knife and stabbed Pedie then turned his ire on his mother-in -law and also stabbed the latter.

Jay-ar tried to grab the knife away from the suspect, but he too was stabbed.

The victims were taken to the hospital where Fely and Perdie expired.  Jay-Ar is in critical condition as of presstime.

Onggon was detained at the Sta. Maria Police Station pending the filing of double murder and frustrated murder charges in court.  (Dan Toribio)
