ZCMC opens P90-M emergency and critical care center Print

The Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) has inaugurated its P90 million Emergency and Critical Care Center yesterday at the ZCMC compound.

Dr. Ahmed Khaayser B. Igasan, Emergency Room head said  that the new ZCMC Emergency and Critical Care Center has 36 beds with its own observation room, Emergency Room Operating Room, CT Scan, ultrasound, laboratory, and x-ray.

The ZCMC Emergency and Critical Care Center will be partially open because the old emergency room will still be renovated and will be part of the new ER. It will be fully functional by the year 2019.

“Hopefully, lahat ng trauma patients maadress na natin with the new facility,” Igasan said.

Four departments will reportedly field personnel at the Emergency room. These are  the Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics and Gynecology with six to seven nurses per shift.

The new facility will not only serve Zamboanga City but the entire Zamboanga Peninsula to include Basilan, Sulu and Tawi -Tawi.

ZCMC chief of Hospital Dr. Nida Tan, former ZCMC chief of Hospital Dr. Romeo Ong, Congressman Celso Lobregat, Congressman Manuel Jose Dalipe, and others graced the occasion.

ZCMC is a hospital with a 500 bed capacity . The hospital is one of DOH regional office 9 retained hospitals.  (RGAAGO)
