Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) has intensified its security efforts following a bombing incident in Isulan town in Sultan Kudarat which killed 1 person and wounded fifteen (15) others.

The City Police has maintained its full alert status in an effort to thwart plans by lawless elements who are planning to conduct atrocities in the city.

Police and military personnel have set up checkpoints to secure the city against the entry of lawless elements.

The “No ID, No Entry” policy is still being implemented in Zamboanga City.

Zamboanga City Police Chief Sr. Supt. Alan Nazarro has also ordered the setting up of random checkpoints all over the city.

Nazarro also ordered increased police visibility to prevent criminal activities by lawless groups.

This is in line with the nationwide directive of PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde to harden security measures and intensify intelligence gathering.

“We call for all commuters to cooperate and voluntarily subject themselves in the routine process of the Joint Task Force checkpoints while entering in the city. Our troops will require you to present your IDs  in ensuring safety and security in our city,” said Sr. Insp. Shellamie Chang, Zamboanga City Police Information Officer.  (Ely Dumaboc)
