Congressman Celso Lobregat expressed his concern in the series of killings happening on Zamboanga City which caused worries in the households of ordinary residents here.

Lobregat stated this after learning about the most recent shooting incident in the city which transpired Monday night in two separate locations in the city, killing at least three persons and wounding another innocent civilian.

"Daw hinde ya man amo el cosa ta pasa na de aton ciudad aura, el matansa siguiditos ya man, it worries everybody because criminals can just do their acts anytime and anywhere they wanted it to happen,"Lobregat said.

The solon said that it is known to every citizen here that the peace and order situation of the city is very volatile, terror threat is in the offing and lawlessess is threatening, and it is the very reason why the law enforcement agencies from the police and military are intensifying its efforts in securing Zamboanga City.

"I would like to commend the police and military for their continued security measures being imposed in the city, the implementation of a full alert status helps, but I think this is not enough amidst the proliferation of criminals around," Lobregat added.

Congressman Lobregat also said that even the relief of Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) Officer-In-Charge in the person of Police Senior Supt Alan Nazarro recently is not even the solution to the problem the city is facing, instead, to focus more on crime solution efficiency and other security strategies which could help minimize and neutralize the rising crime volume in the city.

For his part,Congressman Lobregat is in constant communication with PNP Regional Director Police Chief Supt.Billy Beltran and Western Mindanao Command Commander Lt.Gen. Arnel Dela Vega for the consistent deployment of additional troops in our city to help our local police force and military in safeguarding Zamboanga City.-Dexter Yap
