Cagayan de Oro lends pushcarts for Zamboanga International Airport Print

Congressman Celso Lobregat and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) in Zamboanga City initiated remedies to resolve the shortageof pushcarts in the arrival area of the Zamboanga International Airport.

Lobregat said that he had already made a personal follow-up to Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade with regards to the procurement of some 200 brand new pushcarts for Zamboanga Airport and that it was already bided out and due for delivery anytime soon.

“We cannot wait for long,so in the meantime, we talked with CAAP and look for remedies and we were able to find one. We borrowed (50) units of push carts from Cagayan de Oro Airport for the use of Zamboanga while the 200 units intended for us is still in the process,” Lobregat said.

The solon said that the arrival of the 50 units of push carts is very timely for the use of passengers and visitors of the city who will be attending the Philippine Councilors League national convention which will be held here, as well as the tourists who will grace the Fiesta Pilar celebration.

Lobregat and Department of Tourism IX Regional Director  Myra Paz Valderrosa-Abubakar, who also witnessed the arrival of the pushcarts, thanked CAAP Cagayan de Oro for lending their 50 pushcarts to the Zamboanga International Airport. (Dexter Yap)
