A long motorcade was also held from the Zamboanga International Airport to the City Hall prior to the ceremony.

"Masaya ako kasi dito ako pinanganak sa (I’m happy that I was born in) Zamboanga City. Proud ako Zamboangueño ako (I’m proud to be a Zamboagueño) and I'm so thankful to everyone," Diaz stressed.

In her message, the Olympian enjoined the youth to get into sports as this will give them scholarship, work, a chance to represent the country, and it will also build one’s character.

The students of Pasonanca National High School (PNHS) presented a dance performance for the event, while the Zamboanga City High School (ZCHS) Main's Rezam Lancer provided drum and bugle.
