A police ‘asset’ was brought to the hospital in critical condition after being shot by an unknown assailant along Puerto Princesa Drive, Talon-Talon yesterday morning.

The victim, Rodelin Marcos y Graciano, a police asset, married, and a resident of Barangay Talon-Talon, was shot after reportedly providing information which led to the seizure of a large volume of shabu and the arrest of a drug suspect.

Marcos was bringing his children to school aboard his motorcycle at around 5:30 a.m. when the incident happened.

When they passed by Puerto Princesa Drive, the victim saw the assailant who was reportedly pretending to fix a water hose along the road.

The man suddenly drew his gun and shot Marcos several times and fled towards the road’s interior portion.

Police have launched a thorough investigation for the arrest of the suspect.  (Dan Toribio)
