The Western Mindanao Command has celebrated its 12th anniversary yesterday with a commemorative program at the Westmincom grounds in Barangay Upper Calarian.

Philippine Army Chief of Staff M/Gen. Danilo Chad Isleta graced the occasion as guest of honor and speaker.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Reaching Horizons through Integrated Efforts and Multi-sectoral Alliances.”

In his speech, Isleta recounted his memories of being a young boy playing inside the then Southern Command compound when his father served the Armed Forces as group commander.

“I am truly honored to be a part of this celebration.  Twelve (12) years of hard work and dedication that molded the Western Mindanao Command to what it is today,”  Isleta said.

“Since Westmincom’s birth in 2006, this command has delivered significant accomplishments truly worthy of recognition,”  Isleta added.

Isleta congratulated  Western Mindanao command chief Lt.Gen. Arnel dela Vega and his personnel for “their heroic and outstanding achievements” and to the civilian stakeholders for their invaluable support and contribution to the command’s efforts in attaining its mission.

Among the activities during yesterday’s celebration are an interfaith ecumenical prayer and a wreathlaying ceremony.  (Ely Dumaboc)
