Two members of the Abu Sayyaf group have surrendered to government troops at a military camp in Patikul, Sulu last Friday.

A military report identified the two surrenderers as Albi Amirol Alih aka Albi and Obin Umod Mano aka Saip.

The two, who are under the group of ASG sub-leader Idang Susukan, gave themselves up at the headquarters of the 21st Infantry Battalion based in Barangay Danag, Patikul Municipality in Sulu Province.

Albi also surrendered one (1) M1 Garand rifle while Saip surrendered one (1) cal .45 pistol.

The surrenderers were brought to a military hospital in Bgy Busbus, Jolo, Sulu for medical examination and debriefing.

“This is another welcome development as more ASG (Abu Sayyaf Group) members are finally realizing that it is better for them to abandon the illegal activities they are doing, para naman mabigyan pa sila ng pagkakataon makapagbagong-buhay”, Brigadier General Devino Rey Pabayo, JTF Sulu Commander, said after the report was sent to Western Mindanao Command early yesterday.
