The City government is eyeing the construction of a P60- million veterinary clinic or pet hospital to cater to the needs of sick animals.

The clinic is expected to be constructed at Barangay San Roque, the place where the Office of the City Veterinarian (OCVET) is also located.

“Poreso kita ya pensa coneste cay nohay el government operated pet clinic o hospital,” Dr. Mario Arriola, City Veterinarian, said in an interview.

According to Arriola, the funding of P60 million will include  the building construction, equipment purchase, and salaries for the clinic’s personnel.

The multi-million clinic or pet hospital will also be manned by a head of hospital and will include a laboratory for proper diagnosis of pets’ health problems.

Zamboanga Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, a pet lover, already included the said plan in the city’s Executive Legislative Agenda last 2017.

Arriola said that only animals properly registered with the city government can avail of the facility of the pet clinic or hospital. (RGAAGo)
