Police are investigating an alleged suicide case involving a resident of Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay, who reportedly stabbed himself in the stomach and slashed his throat at the river below the Jumbo Bridge in Guiwan last Wednesday morning.

A police report disclosed that Remerio Bejoc of Payao, Sibugay was found dead in the river around 6:45 a.m.

Initial investigation disclsoed that Bejoc arrived from Sibugay last September 11 and stayed with his relatives at the Saavedra Apartment in Guiwan.

Bejoc’s visit in the city was intended to undergo medical check-up. Around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Bejoc went to the house of a certain Tata Santander, 17, a student, to borrow a seven-inch kitchen knife. He then walked to the riverbank and was later discovered dead with a stab wound in the stomach and slash wound on the throat.
