Nearly fifty child patients of the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) were beneficiaries  in a gift giving activity by the Philippine National Police Regional Office-9 in observance of the  National Mental Health Week.

The team from the Police Community Relations Office  headed by PRO9 spokesperson Chief Insp. Helen Galvez visited the  mental ward to hand over gifts to the confined patients.

Galvez said that the PRO9 had been partners with the ZCMC’s Mental Ward since the PNP’s Tokhang was started in 2016.

Some of the recipients in previous year’s activities were drug personalities who voluntarily submitted themselves for rehabilitation.

The 47 patients received some clothing, foods and free haircut.

The gifts were provided by the PRO9 Chief Chief Supt. Emmanuel Licup and his staff.

The same team is expected to return to the hospital comes Christmas.  (Dan Toribio)
