A woman who promised to release a suspected drug offender from jail was herself arrested during an entrapment operation after failing to secure the release of the suspect from jail.

A police report identified the suspect as Leah Bosmion y Flores, 37, married, a resident of Campo Islam.

Bosmion was arrested inside a fast food outlet along Climaco Avenue last Tuesday.

Prior to the arrest, Bosmion asked money from Jubaira Besueno y Dalawis, 46, for the release of the latter’s son from jail.

Besueno’s son, Abdulhakeem Saraban, was arrested during a drug buy-bust operation by the Sta. Maria Police Station.

In her complaint to police, Besueno said that she gave P35,000 to Bosmion  but the latter failed to secure her son’s release.

Bosmion instead demanded an additional P30,000 from Besueno to be given to a lawyer.

At around 4:30p.m. last Tuesday, Sta, Maria Police Station and Regional Mobile Force Battalion personnel conducted an entrapment operation that resulted to Bosmion’s arrest.

Police recovered the boodle money, including a P1,000 marked bill, in Bosmion’s possession.

Bosmion was detained at Police Station 11 pending the filing of extortion charges.  (Dan Toribio)
