The Police Regional Office 9 awarded deserving police personnel with merit medals for their laudable operational accomplishments.

The awarding ceremony was held during the traditional Monday flag-raising ceremony at the PRO-9 parade grounds, Camp Col .Romeo A Abendan, in Mercedes  yesterday morning.

Chief Supt. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, Regional Director of PRO-9, disclosed that the operating policemen brought honor and prestige worthy of praise and emulation by their peers in particular and the PNP police organization in general.

Licup named the awardees for Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Merit Medals) as Supt. Edilberto Alvarez, PO2 Alfredo Gangoso and PO3 Had-Marwan Edding, all from the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO), recognized for the arrest of drug suspects identified as Nidzma Sapinding Juani and Alyaser Halahim Juani during anti-illegal drugs operation (buy-bust) on September 3, 2018 at Estrada Street, Tetuan, Zamboanga City.

Other awardees were Chief Insp. Roldan Molate, SPO1 Paul Antonie Deiparine and SPO1 Vincent Jasma, all from the Labason Municipal Police Station, Zamboanga Del Norte Provincial Police Office, who were recognized for the neutralization of the Top 3 Most Wanted Persons (Municipal Level) identified as Madjuni Esmael Tarang during law enforcement operations last October 3, 2018 in Sitio Bucana, Osukan, Labason, Zamboanga Del Norte.

Licup also lauded them for a job well done and while inspiring other policemen to do the same in the name of public service.  (Dan Toribio)
