A veteran police investigator was wounded while his wife who is also a policewoman escaped unhurt during a gun attack near the Sangguniang Panlungsod along RT Lim Boulevard yesterday afternoon.

The victim, SPO4 Samman Naing, sustained a bullet wound in the body and was taken to a private hospital for treatment.
Naing’s wife Soraida of the Regional Internal Affairs, escaped unhurt in the attack.

A police report disclosed that Naing and his wife were aboard their owner type jeep on their way home to  the west coast when a motorcycle with two men aboard appeared near the City Council building where the backrider opened fire on them.

Investigators recovered a spent shell of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.
Witnesses said the gunmen sped away after the incident.

Policemen were eying on work related motive  behind the gun attack. As police investigator, Naing has handled several cases, including sensitive ones.  — Dan Toribio Jr.
