The City Government of Zamboanga will spend for this year’s Pascua na Zamboanga the amount of P3-million, a figure P500,000 more than last year’s budget.

Engineer Rene dela Cruz, City General Services Officer, said that the theme for this year’s decoration will be “I Love Zamboanga City.”

The kick-off for this year’s Christmas festivities will be on November 23, a week earlier than the usual schedule.

Most of the decorations will be heart-shaped and illuminated by LED lights.  Ninety percent of the decorations will feature new designs, according to Dela Cruz.

Dela Cruz also said that this year’s Christmas Tree at Paseo del Mar will be shorter by fifteen  feet because the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) boom truck is not available to assist in mounting the installation.

At least sixty  GSO employees are working overtime to finish the decoration in time for the launch of the Christmas festival.  (RGAAGo)
