The City Council is expected to hold a dialogue on the controversial flyover projects during their regular session on Wednesday.

The dialogue, which was proposed by Councilor Juan Climaco Elago, will focus on two separate plans to institute road widening measures and to construct an overpass.

The city council invited the Regional Director of the Department of Public Works and Highways, City Legal Officer, City Engineer, City Assessor and the City Planning and Development Coordinator as resource persons.

The dialogue will be held amid an exchange of arguments regarding the two projects by two top officials of the city.

First District Congressman Celso Lobregat has initiated and strongly endorsed the construction of two flyovers in the city as a solution to traffic congestion.

The projects, to be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways, are scheduled to start immediately.

The Zamboanga local government, headed by Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco- Salazar,  has proposed the implementation of road widening projects prior to the flyover construction.  (Remus Ong)
