Six members of the Abu Sayyaf group surrendered to military authorities in Talipao, Sulu last Monday.

The six were identified as Annuar Sumlahani Dalawis aka Urban, Arsi Kalam Akili, Nassal Asaral aka Nassal, Alvarez Sadjan aka Tundok, and Aysal Ajaral aka Taki, residents of Barangay Kuppong, Indanan, Sulu and Medzmar Mursin aka Choy, a resident of Barangay Panabuan, Indanan, Sulu.

The six bandits submitted themselves to the troops of the 2nd Special Forces Battalion.

The surrenderors were under various Abu Sayyaf sub-leaders prior to their surrender.

The surrenderors also turned over six high- powered firearms including an M16 A1 rifle and five US M1 Garand rifles.

They were subjected to custodial debriefing and documentation at the headquarters of the 2nd Special Forces Battalion in Sitio Bayug, Barangay Samak, Talipao, Sulu province.

Lt. Gen. Arnel dela Vega, Western MIndanao Command Chief, commended the 2nd SF Battalion under Joint Task Force Sulu for their recent accomplishment.  (Ely Dumaboc)
