City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo yesterday disclosed that the police will forward to the City Prosecutor Office a frustrated murder case against two gunmen who shot and wounded a police investigator along RT Lim Boulevard last Friday afternoon.

In an interview, De Ocampo said they have already gathered through the statement of a witness the identities of the suspects who shot SPO4 Samman Naing y Edding
The police director also said that Naing’s wife will execute a sworn statement as she saw the gunmen shooting her husband.

De Ocampo added that the gun attack has something to do with Naing’s work as he is handling a homicide case and it is already scheduled for court promulgation this month.

Aside from the preparation of the charges against the suspects, De Ocampo said the police are still on hot pursuit operation as they believe that the gunmen are still in the city.

De Ocampo is optimistic that the gunmen will be arrested soon.

Naing and his wife who is also a policewoman were riding on their owner type jeep on their way home around 5 p.m., when two men aboard a motorcycle appeared and the bakc rider opened fire on them near the Sangguninag Panlungsod compound.

Naing’s wife escaped unhurt.
