Bike-riding snatcher takes woman’s P3,000, cell phone PDF Print E-mail

A 39-year-old woman lost her P3,000 and Nokia cell phone to a motorcycle riding snatcher along Campaner St. yesterday afternoon.

The victim, who requested anonymity, appeared at the police station and filed a complaint that a motorcycle riding man snatched her shoulder bag while she and her daughter were walking near the intersection of La Purisima and Campaner Sts.

According to the victim, the incident happened while the area was crowded with pedestrians and motorists.

She said she was surprised by the snatcher who was driving a Honda Dream motorcycle with plate number JM 564 and who suddenly appeared and grabbed her bag.

She added that she tried to fight back but failed.

The victim told the police that the snatchcer sped eastward with the bag.

The victim’s companion chased the snatcher but the latter disappeared amid the volumes of vehicles.

The victim added that there were two policemen aboard a patrol car near the scene but they failed to respond to the snatching. — Dan Toribio Jr.
