House Deputy Speaker for Mindanao Beng Climaco has called ion all residents to be cautious as cases of mosquito-borne disease dengue remain high in other parts of the country.

Congresswoman Climaco lamented that dengue cases had been almost all year round and what is alarming she stressed is the discovery of a new virus—the cox virus which exhibits similar symptoms as dengue.

“In Manila there has even been a new virus that was discovered to have infected kids that has the same symptoms as dengue –the cox virus which is airborne”, the lady solon said.

The District 1 representative recently initiated a medical mission in Zamboanga City in cooperation with the Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps benefiting hordes of people. Cong. Climaco likewise pursues her health insurance program and released PHILHEALTH cards to her constituents to help in times of emergency.
The congresswoman said it is here desire to put in place preventive measures so that people are prepared and ready during times of emergencies.

“My desire really is to put preventive measures in place. We have always been reactive and responsive only in emergencies. Our team has already worked on mechanisms that would soon institutionalize preparedness in District 1,” she emphasized.

She vowed to continue pursuing health programs to complement and augment the programs and services being provided by the local government unit for the benefit of the people not only in District I but entire Zamboanga City. — Marvin Segura
