MILF lost command rebel killed in clash with soldiers in Sacol PDF Print E-mail

A Moro Islamic Liberation Front lost command rebel linked to a kidnap-for-ransom group was killed in a clash with Army soldiers at Sitio Tambak, Barangay Landang Laum, Sacol Island yesterday morning.

A military report said that soldiers of the 14th Reconnaisance Company of Task Force Zamboanga clashed with the group of Commander Imbran and his more or less 15 heavily armed followers.

The firefight lasted for 30 minutes afterwhich the soldiers recovered the body of the slain rebel identified only as Korong.
No casualty on the government side.

It was learned that the lost command rebels went to Sacol to reload fuel for their pumpboats.

Commander Imbran and his followers withdrew to unknown direction after sensing that the soldier were augmented by police forces  and other military units.
As of press time, naval forces, ground troops and policemen of Sacol Island were still on hot pursuit operation against the fleeing  gunmen. — Dan Toribio Jr. and Eugene Lasprillas
