As a show of appreciation to his sincere and unique way of helping the Zamboangueños, the Liberal Party-Kapayapaan Katarungan Kaunlaran (LP-KKK) has officially appointed young Zamboangueño philanthropist John David Atilano-Corpin also known as “JDC” as the LP-KKK City Chapter Chairman.

JDC took his oath of office before Manila City Mayor Alfredo Lim (National Chairman) and Justice Rodolfo Palattao (Party President) in a simple ceremony held at Manila City Hall last September 16, 2011.

Though he has not yet officially thrown his hat into the political ring, LP-KKK leaders have shown JDC’s remarkable and commendable efforts of extending assistance to poor Zamboangueños in depressed areas, thus, his gate pass to the strongest political party in the country led by DOTC Secretary Mar Roxas and President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III.

At present, only JDC and District 1 Rep. Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar are officially recognized as LP-KKK members in the Zamboanga City.

While Rep. Salazar is in charge of the political party activity in the entire Mindanao as the House Deputy Speaker for Mindanao, JDC is tasked to closely monitor the true state of moral ascendency, dignity, sincerity, clean and honest governance aimed to ensure that liberty and happiness of the Filipino people are properly executed.
JDC said it was Justice Rodolfo Palattao and some of the nation’s political leaders who encouraged him to join the party.

Justice Palattao is one of the political advisers of JDC.

As this developed, JDC said in the coming days, he is going to formally organize, in close coordination with Rep. Salazar, the set of officers and board of directors which will compose the LP-KKK City Chapter.

Former barangay leaders, known individuals and even ordinary but credible residents who have that noble intention to help Zamboanga City in obtaining its goal to be one of the progressive and peaceful localities in the region,  are the ones who will compose the LP-KKK City Chapter, JDC said.

JDC, who is a Zamboangueño by blood, grew up and studied in Zamboanga but spent many years in Manila.

With the help of his friends in Manila, JDC has been extending assistance to many of schools in remote areas by providing pupils of various schools supplies, computer libraries in some selected barangays and many others. — Jimmy Villaflores
