Owner of getaway car used in Sibugay kidnap identified PDF Print E-mail

The Highway Patrol Group 9 Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Team has identified the owner of the getaway car used  by the armed group  that kidnapped Luisa Galvez Morrison at her beauty salon in Barangay Poblacion,Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugfay last September 4,2011.

Zamboanga Sibugay HPG leader Chief  SPO4 Nestor Bandigan reported to HPG-9 Chief Sr. Supt. Romeo R. Uy that together with PO2 Juvie M. Dalogdog, they were able to identify the owner of the multicab car that was set afire by the kidnappers during their escape with the hostage.

Bandigan said that during a thorough investigation, they contacted the Highway Patrol Group and the Land Transportation Office in Cebu and asked for  information. The two government offices gave them back information and the computerized document of the car.

The  yellow Suzuki multicab was registered in Toledo City,  Cebu with motorvehicle file number 0760-0000004471 and plate number GMT 791. Chassis number  DA5IT-196443 and engine number F6A-5398914. Last registration date was January 31,2011 with registered owner from Davao City. The name of the  owner and complete address  were withheld so as not to jeopardize the investigation, Bandigan said.

Bandigan disclosed that as a result of their investigation with the information from people near in the area, another motorvehicle was also used by the kidnappers as second getaway car after they burned the Suzuki multicab to mislead the law enforcers.

Bandigan said the second motorvehicle was an Isuzu Demax 4X4 color Sandalwood with plate number KCY 544. The people nearby the area told HPG investigators that they saw a woman dragged into the Demax. The address of the registered owner and name of the Demax owner were also withheld.

“We are ready to present the motorvehicle documents if the Task Force Galvez will file case in court  soon,” Bandigan said.
Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office operation officer Chief Insp. Ariel Huesca  disclosed that the HPG Zamboanga Sibugay Team led by Bandigan was the first law enforcement gency to react and rushed to the area where the car was burned down during the hot pursuit operation last September 4.

Police Regional Office 9 Director Chief Supt. Elpidio Z. De Asis Jr. disclosed that  the HPG  team in Sibugaywill be given an award.

Galvez was rescued by Army commandos in Mahatalang, Sumisip,  Basilan last Monday afternoon. She is now recuperating in a hospital in Manila. — Allen Abastillas
