The Land Transportation Office-9 will soon form an Anti-Colrum Task Force.

LTO-9 Director  Aminola P. Abaton disclosed that the creation of the task force was directed  by  DOTC Assistant Secretary Virginia Torres during the Regional  Directors Conference presided by Torres last September 21-23,2011 in Capas, Tarlac.

Abaton said the task force will be composed of  LTO law enforcers,  Highway Patrol Group 9 under the leadership of Sr. Supt. Romeo R. Uy and Land TransportatioFranchizing   Regulatory  Board 9 with Director Abdulgafar Mohammad.

“Im going to talk and request them regarding the creation of the anti-colorum task force. It is a composite and collegial team,” Abaton said.

Abaton has received information that there are  many private vans servicing passengers going to different places in the country without franchise from the LTFRB, including out- of-line motorvehicles.

According to Abaton, private vans or out-of-line motorvehicles servicing passengers are very dangerous for passengers most especially when they meet an accident.
“The most important is the safety and insurance of the passengers,” Abaton said.

Meanwhile, Abaton disclosed that out of 16 regional offices of LTO nationwide, five  were commended by Torres for fasttracking the distribution of the Pantawid Pasada cards to beneficiaries . The five LTO regional offices are Region, 1, Region 2, Region 4-A, Region 8 and Region 9. — Allen Abastillas
