Education Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro designated Natividad to the position through a memorandum issued on September 21.

As OIC-SDS, Natividad is authorized to perform all functions delegated to schools division superintendents in Department Order No. 29 series of 1975, as revised. “This designation carries with it the authority to assume the powers, duties and responsibilities of a school superintendent”, Secretary Luistro said.

Natividad yesterday morning paid a courtesy call on Mayor Celso Lobregat to personally inform the chief executive about his designation. He thanked Mayor Lobregat for all the support and assistance to the education sector for the benefit and welfare of the young Zamboangueños. He likewise expressed appreciation to Councilor Rudy Lim, chairman of the Council committee on education, also for the support.

Prior to his designation, Natividad was the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent in Pagadian City, a position he held since June 2010. From March 2004 to August 2005, he was ASDS in Dapitan City and from September 2005 to June 2009, ASDS in Zamboanga City with jurisdiction in the east coast area.

Before becoming an ASDS, he was a teacher at the Basilan National High School for 7 years; Physical Education Professor at the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) for 5 years and later as Schools Division Supervisor for Physical Education and School Sports (PESS) also for 5 years.

The OIC-SDS has vowed to efficiently perform the mandated functions of the office. Among his first plans of action is the conduct of the environmental scanning on the performance of the division as well as the working relationship of the officials and personnel specifically the kind of culture that has developed in the Division Office the past few years.
