An 11-year-old pupil of Talon-Talon Elementary School escaped from the hands of unidentified men who tried to snatch him in Barangay Talon-Talon yesterday morning.

Police identified the boy as Richard Navarro y Amaro, a Grade 4 pupil, and a resident of Candido Drive, Talon-Talon.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo said that Navarro and his four classmates were walking on their way home after they were dismissed early by their class adviser when a white van stopped in front of them a few meters away from the school.

An unidentified man alighted, then grabbed Navarro and tried to drag him to the van.
However, Navarro slipped from the man’s grip and ran away.

Navarro’s bag and clothes were damaged because of the struggle to get away from the man’s grip.

Navarro and his four classmates ran towards their respective houses.

The abductor sped towards Mampang, witnesses told the police.
De Ocampo said he immediately instructed the Tetuan police station to dig deeper into the case and conduct hot pursuit operations against the perpetrators. — Dan Toribio Jr.
