This month of October marks the 22nd National Statistics Month Celebration nationwide.

The National Statistics Month (NSM) was first observed in 1990 pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 signed by former President Corazon C. Aquino on September 20, 1990, declaring the month of October of every year as the National Statistics Month. For this  year’s  theme:”Quality Social Protection Statistics for Focused  Targetting: Improving Outcomes, Changing Lives”. 

To highlight the said celebration,  a  calendar of activities was  prepared for the whole month of October by the respective statistical agencies nationwide.  For the National Statistics Office in Zamboanga City,  there will be a tree planting activity  to be conducted on October 7 at Abong-Abong  Park, inter-school Information dissemination forum in selected schools, Training in Computer and Basic Demographic Concepts, Statistical Exhibits  and the  Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Citywide elimination  round to be participated by all freshmen students from various colleges and universities in Zamboanga City to be held on October 21, 2011  and many other activities.
