Gov. Akbar enjoins Basileños to help recover kidnap victim PDF Print E-mail

Basilan Gov. Jum Akbar yesterday has enjoined all of the Basileños to assist the police and the military in locating the 59-year-old kidnapping victim in the province.

Akbar made the call citing the victim could be safely recovered soon with the help of the populace in the province of Basilan.

Akbar said the efforts of the police and the military in locating and to recover the victim will be hastened with the Basileños help by way of providing information to the authorities.

Akbar assured Basileños that all information leading to the recovery of the victim will be treated with utmost confidentiality.

The victim, Rose Baranda, 59, who owns a sari-sari store in Barangay Tumahubong, Sumisip, was kidnapped by gunmen last Tuesday afternoon.

“Bawat isa sa atin ay may moral obligation as peace-loving individuals to help the government in maintaining peace in their own communities. That is why I enjoin the Basileños to help the authorities in the recovery of Mrs. Baranda,” Akbar said.

Worried over Baranda’s health, Akbar appealed the kidnappers to safely release the victim for humanitarian consideration.

The lady governor assured Baranda’s family that the Crisis Management Committee (CMC) is exerting effort for the speedy and safe recovery of the captive from the hands of the kidnappers.
