The region’s highly fancied duckpin keglers will display their wares as they vie for honor and cash prizes in the much awaited Cong. Erbie A. Fabian Cup Five Men and Triple Ladies Bowling Tournament which will reel off tonight at Tebi and Sean Recreational Center on Gov. Camins Road, this city.

Hosted by The Zamboanga Bowlers Association or ZAMBA headed by Atty. Luis M. Climaco, the most anticipated and participated event in this part of the country held annually is expected to see highly rated players coming from cities and provinces in the region in action.

Climaco said more than 40 teams are expected to participate and about a dozen of them are in the ladies division in the tourney held as one of the sports events as part of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival.

Except today when the game starts after the opening program scheduled at 7:00 p.m., the rest of the days or October 8 and 9, all games start exactly at 9:00 a.m.
Tournament rules call for punctuality such that late players who missed playing a number of frames before showing up will be credited a score of 7 and 8 alternately.
Championship round will be played after the completion of the elimination round and awarding ceremonies will follow immediately.

The tourney’s sponsor Cong. Erbie A. Fabian is the event’s guest of honor and speaker while Junne Camins, the solon’s assistant on barangay affairs, will deliver an inspirational message and Atty. Climaco declares the tournament open.

The program starts with invocation to be led by Efren Cohay and Roily Moharibain followed by the singing of the national anthem to be led by Mercy Alvarez. Engr. Alejo Rojas Jr., ZAMBA Vice-President will give the opening remarks.

Roseller “Ller” Enriquez and Danny Macansantos are the program’s emcees.
