Over 4000 local and international job vacancies are being offered today as the City Government spearheads the Fiesta Hermosa Job Fair 2011 at Plaza del Pilar.
With the participation of 18 local companies and 16 international recruitment agencies, job seekers will have a handful of opportunities to choose from, starting 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Registration will commence before 8:00 AM to be followed by a simple program where the cooperators and collaborators of the event will formally open the affair thru a ribbon-cutting ceremony to be led by Mayor Celso Lobregat.

According to City Social Welfare and Development Officer Francisco Barredo, the one-day job fair is one of the City Government’s thrust in consistently providing job opportunities to the constituents with the cooperation of other government and non-government entities.

Together with the City in carrying out the mentioned activity are the Department of Labor and Employment, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Technical Education and Skill Development Authority, ABS-CBN TV Patrol Chabacano, Nature Spring and the Public Employment Service Office of the CSWDO.

Barredo also confirmed that the 275 local job orders would include accounting positions, sales and marketing, engineering, carpentry and janitorial, among others. The 3, 786 international recruitment options would include hospital cleaners, engineers, service crews, household helpers, nurses and receptionist- to name a few.

As traditionally observed from the past job fairs conducted under the facilitation of PESO, Barredo said that 15% of the total number of applicants interviewed is targeted to be hired on the spot. — Richard Aliangan
