House Deputy Speaker for Mindanao Beng Climaco continues to pursue the legacy of her late uncle, Mayor Cesar C. Climaco as she initiated the 3rd CCC Young Leaders Assembly, a gathering intended to respond to the need of a platform that will connect the present generation of Zamboangueño young leaders to the life, works, and legacy of the late mayor.

The assembly, participated by Sangguniang Kabataan chairmen of the city was held from Nov. 12-13 at the Zamboanga Economic Zone Authority in San Ramon. The participants were exposed to lectures or talks and formation on good governance and servant leadership.

The 3rd CCC Young Leaders Assembly formed part of the activities lined up by the Office of Cong. Climaco in coordination with the local government through Mayor Celso Lobregat to ensure that the commemoration of the 27th death anniversary of the late mayor becomes very significant for Zamboanguenos.

Climaco has underscored the need to continue CCC’s legacy so that young people may learn what true leadership and service is all about.
Today, Nov. 14, the death anniversary of the late mayor, a ceremonial wreath laying will be done at the tomb of the Mayor Climaco at the Climaco Freedom Park in
Abong-abong with Mayor Lobregat leading the activity. Members of the Climaco family are expected to be present.

Rep. Climaco will not be able to join the commemoration rites today, as she will be in the House of Representatives which will resume session also today.

“I will be back in Congress today for the resumption of the sessions. I may be away from the commemoration of Uncle Cesar’s death anniversary, but I am comforted with the thought that his and my father’s legacy of sincere service and leadership is what inspires me to do my job the best way I can,”  the lady solon emphasized.

On the other hand, the congresswoman thanked the city government for continuously undertaking programs in honor of the late mayor. She stressed that such activities perpetuate the memory of her late uncle.
