DIPOLOG CITY — A bottled sardines manufacturer from this city has  emerged as a national finalist in the recently held 2011 Productivity Olympics (PO) at  Bayleaf Hotel in Manila.

Zaragoza Foods Corp., based in Galas, Dipolog City, represented Region 9 in the micro, small and medium industry category for  the 2011 Productivity Olympics by the
Department of Labor and Employment  (DOLE) after it was adjudged the regional winner in the same competition held in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay last month.

In here message before the winners/awardees, Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said: “This year’s winners deserve their awards for each has demonstrated great improvements in productivity and quality excellence.”

Baldoz also led the panel of judges in the 2011 Productivity Olympics-national level.

It can be recalled that Zaragoza Foods had been a ZaNorteans Achievers Awardee  in 2005, outstanding and Globe Masigasig for Mindanao Island in 2008, and this  year’s most outstanding employer in the food processing category in the search for outstanding employers and employees in the private sector sponsored by the Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC) and DOLE. — PIA
