The Technical Education Skills Development Administration (TESDA) has allocated P3 million for scholarship to be granted to 300 students from different towns in Basilan, who will take up four different technical courses at the Furigay College Inc. (FCI).

TESDA has chosen FCI as the school where the scholars will study different technical courses, according to Hegem Furigay, the school president.
Furigay said that after the two-month courses, the scholars will have good opportunity to work abroad

The four courses being offered by TESDA are Bar Tending, Computer Hardware, Housekeeping Service and Shielded Metal Art.
Those equipped with skills learned from these four courses are reported to be in demand in many countries abroad

FCI officials are happy because this is the second year that TESDA has chosen the school for its scholarship program

Last year, 699 scholars graduated at FCI under TESDA’s scholarship program. This year, the agency targets 350 scholars.

The scholarship program is big help to poor parents who could not afford to send their children to school.

The latest TESDA scholarship grant is one of the highlights of the fourth anniversary celebration of FCI.
