A man was killed while his twin brother was injured in a rumble that broke out along Tomas Claudio St. last Tuesday night.

The fatality was identified as Said Asgal. Injured was Omar Asgal, both 25, of Mampang.

Nurhakim Damsid, his brother Nurhassim Damsid and their cousin Ali Nasa, all residents of Campaner St., were arrested as suspects  during a follow-up operation.
A police report disclosed that the twin brothers engaged in a fistfight with Nurhakim, Nurhassim and Nasa that deteriorated into boody confrontation.

In an interview, Omar said that he and his twin brother Said were riding a bicycle passing near Shop-O-rama around 9 p.m. when they were attacked by the Damsid brothers and Nasa.

Omar said the three hit them with a steel bar and one of them stabbed Said using an ice pick (tres cantos).

Omar sustained head injuries while Said sustained fatal wounds in the body, but they were able to run to the central police station to seek assistance.

However, Said died moments later due to the fatal wounds in the body.

On the other hand, Nurhakim said it was him who struck Omar with a steel bar and also stabbed Said in the body.

Nurhakim claimed that his brother and Nasa had no part in the bloody incident.

The Damsid brothers and Nasa were detained at the central police station pending the filing of charges against them. — Dan Toribio Jr.
