An 18-year-old man was killed while two others were injured in a road mishap in Barangay Culianan at noon last Thursday.

The fatality was identified as Joel Angcon, of Buenavista. Injured were Richard Into, 21, also of Buenavista and Clarivic Fernandez, a pedicab driver of Boalan.
A police report disclosed that Into was driving a motorcycle with Angcon as backrider on their way to Buenavista around 12:30 p.m. when the accident took place.

Police said that Into lost control of the steering bar and bumped Fernandez’ pedicab. Angcon was thrown away and was accidentally hit by a Mitsubishi Strada pick-up
truck with license plate SEM 996 issued to Councilor Abdurahman Nuño and driven by Emie Cagoscos, who was traveling on opposite direction.

Nuño was also aboard the pick-up truck but he was not hurt.

The three were taken to the hospital where Angcon was declared dead on arrival.

The motorcycle and the pick-up truck were impounded at the Culianan Police Station pending further investigation. — Dan Toribio Jr.
