A Mindanao-based radio anchor was among the fatalities in the wake of flash floods brought by Tropical storm Sendong (Washi).

Radyo Mo Nationwide (RMN) said the floods hit the house of Enie Alsonado, an anchor at its Iligan City-based station dxIC.

The RMN report said Alsonado tried to help his family flee from their flooded house, but drowned.

Alsonado, 45, had worked for 10 years at RMN, the network said.

The RMN report quoted Alsonado’s wife as saying they rode a vehicle to flee from the floods but their vehicle was swept away.

RMN said the anchor’s body was found buried in mud Saturday morning.

On the other hand, it said the floods hit the houses of station manager Ramil Emborong and some employees. — GMA News
