Three men were wounded in separate gun attacks last Wednesday in different places.

Wounded were Rodolfo Pioquinto y Tarro, 44, married, a market enforcer and a resident of Mampang, Jesse Belez y Morito, 26, married, a barbecue vendor of Shanty Town, Luyahan, Pasonanca and Elbert Ramo y Abad, 42, a security guard of Cawit.

Pioquinto was shot and wounded at Martha Drive, Sta. Catalina around 4:30 p.m. He sustained bullet wounds in the right shoulder and right cheek.

Police said that Pioquinto and his companion identified as Albert Pioquinto were riding on a motorcycle on their way home when two men aboard another motorcycle appeared and the backrider shot him twice at Martha Drive.

Belez was shot and wounded by PO2 Abral Abraham, of the Basilan Police Provincial Office and residing in Luyahan.

Belez was shot in the mouth, with the bullet exiting in the neck.

A police report disclosed that Belez and Abraham had a personal dispute and the incident was reported to the Sta. Maria Police Station.

Around 9:30 p.m., Belez was standing along the road at Shanty Town when Abraham approached and shot him at close range using a .45 caliber pistol.

Ramo was shot and wounded by policemen of the Tugbungan Community Police Action Center during a shootout around 11:30 p.m.

A police report disclosed that the Tugbungan COMPAC had received a report that there was an indiscriminate firing at the Tugbungan Homeowners Association.

Policemen rushed to the place and spotted Ramo standing at a dimly lit corner.

Police said that Ramo suddenly opened fire at them prompting the lawmen to return fire.

Ramo was hit in the body. Although wounded, he managed to run towards the house of PO1 Sicad where he was arrested later. — Dan Toribio Jr.
