Mason lodge gives relief aid, instead of holding Xmas party PDF Print E-mail

The Masonry Brotherhood  of Mt. Apo Lodge of Zamboanga City  will not hold its annual Christmas party as a gesture of sympathy to the victims of          Typhoon Sendong in Cagayan de Oro, Iligan and Dumaguete Cities  last week.

Mr. Abubakar Hamada a member of Mt. Apo Lodge, disclosed that he has received an information that the lodge will not hold its yearly Chrismas party and instead will extend help to the victims of Sendong like foodstuff, bottled water, mats, beddings, medicines and other necessities.

”We can not celebrate party because it is the brotherhood law  to help and extend help to people who are in dire needs. I received also information that the Zamboanga  Lodge will not also hold a Christmas party and will also extend help to the victims of floods,” Hamad said.

Meanwhile, Police Regional Office 9 Director Chief Supt. Elpidio Z. De Asis Jr. and the entire regional command have decided to extend assistance to the victims of typhoon Sendong  during the annual gathering of the policemen last December 19,2011 at Camp Abendan. PRO9 sent foodstuff, water and many other necessary  items for the people.

De Asis said that there are also victims of Typhoon Sendong in Rehion 9, particularly the people of Polanco,  Zamboanga del Norte.

“It is very fortunate that the damage caused by Typhoon Sendong in Polanco was not so serious,” De Asis said.

Moreover, Highway Patrol Group 9 Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Team Chief led by  Sr.  Insp. Dexter Diones and the HPG9 Auxicialary Group also extended assistance  to the victims of Typhoon Sendong in Cagayan de Oro City and Iligan City. — Allen Abastillas
